London Carrie. The City, Sherlock and Kate Bush.

Ubiegły tydzień upłynął mi pod znakiem Londynu. Zdaję sobie sprawę, że to niemal polskie miasto i nie jest to żadna sensacja, że ktoś się wybiera do Londynu turystycznie, ale udało mi się tam zawitać po latach przerwy, więc miałam nie lada radochę. Tym bardziej, że jestem anglofilem odkąd pamiętam, a języka angielskiego w brytyjskim wydaniu mogę słuchać (i w nim konwersować) bez końca.

I spent last week in London. I realise it's not a sensation at all since so many Poles actually live there and you can hear polish language everywhere around. It was a big joy for me though for it's been long years since I've been there last time. I am an anglophile since I rememeber therefore each time I visit UK is a delight :). I just LOVE british English and I could listen to it every day.

Podróżować po prostu uwielbiam, ale nie przepadam za lotniskową nudą, wysiadywaniem w poczekalniach zanim można będzie wejść na pokład.

Although I love travelling, I can't stand the airport boredom.

Kiedy nareszcie udało mi się dotrzeć na miejsce noclegu (prywatna kwatera, podróżując zawsze korzystam z portalu Airbnb) było już dość późno, ale i tak od razu wskoczyłam w londyński nurt.

I finally made it to the place of my stay (private room - I always plan my trips with the Airbnb). It was late evening, still I couldn't resist to have some good fun in a local pub :)

Wygooglowałam go wcześniej, szukając najbliższego miejscu noclegu. Okazało się, że na stronie są darmowe vouchery na piwo. Polecam zwłaszcza Camden Pale ;) /  I found this pub online, while I was searching for one closest to the place of my stay. You may get a free beer voucher on their site and I highly recommend the Camden Pale :)

Później już tylko zwiedzanie. Nachodziłam i najeździłam się za wszystkie czasy, wykorzystałam każdą minutę pobytu na 100% :)

Sightseeing, sightseeing, sightseeing. I didn't have much time for it but I did my best to make the most of every minute :)

Instalacja z ceramicznych czerwonych maków wokół Tower. Upamiętnia wszystkie brytyjskie ofiary IWŚ w stulecie jej wybuchu. 888 246 kwiatów. / 888 246 ceramic red poppies around The Tower. Each poppy represents a British military fatality during the WW I.

Muzeum Wojny / Imperial War Museum

Orzeł z Reichstagu. Robi wrażenie... / The Reichtag Eagle made quite an impression.

Podczas zwiedzania, kiedy pusty żołądek już mocno wołał o swoje, natknęłam się na Dzień (i noc) kuchni malezyjskiej na Trafalgar Square. To był strzał w dziesiątkę. Nie chciałam żeby moja porcja wspaniałego kurczaka się skończyła :D.

There was a moment I felt really hungry. Best timing - I found out there was a Malaysia Night on the Trafalgar Square. It was the best chicken ever. I didn't want my portion to end.

Jedną ze sporych atrakcji dla mnie była wizyta na Baker Street w Muzeum Sherlocka Holmesa. Ale nie tylko - odwiedziłam również niepozorną na codzień North Gower Street, która raz na jakiś czas zmienia się w plan zdjęciowy dla serialu BBC "Sherlock", który to serial po prostu kocham :D.

Visiting The Sherlock Holmes Museum at Baker Street was quite an attraction for me cause I am a big Sherlock fan. I have also been to North Gower Street though. This place is known of being the scenography for the BBC tv series "Sherlock" and, as you can imagine, I really adore this show :D.

Głównym i najważniejszym powodem mojego wyjazdu był jednak koncert KATE BUSH. Jestem jej wielką fanką, wychowałam się na jej muzyce, podziwiam ją za wielki talent, nietuzinkowość i urodę. W swoim czasie była unikalnym zjawiskiem, i wielkie dzięki Ci, Davidzie Gilmourze, za to wiekopomne odkrycie!
Wiadomość o serii ok. dwudziestu koncertów, które Kate zamierza zaprezentować w hali Eventim (Hammersmith) Apollo zelektryzowała jej wielbicieli. W dniu zero wszystkie bilety rozeszły się w niecałe 15 minut. Ja byłam jedną z tych szczęśliwych osób, którym się udało. Nie było to tanie, ale koncert którego byłam świadkiem wart był każdego pensa i nawet więcej. Kate dała niesamowite show, a usłyszeć "Running Up That Hill" czy "Hounds of Love" na żywo - bezcenne...

Despite all that I've seen and all places that I've been to in London, the main reason I went there in the first place was a Kate Bush show. I am big fan of Kate. I grew up listening to her music (my mum was a big fan), I admire her talent and beauty. She was a phenomenon, she was (is!) absolutely unique, therefore thank you, David Gilmour, for bringing this awesome lady to stage when she was a teenager. 
The news about Kate's shows in Eventim (Hammersmith) Appollo was a bolt from the blue. All the tickets were gone in less than 15 minutes. It was quite a battle online :D and I was among those lucky ones who bought some. It wasn't cheap as you probably assume but I ensure you, that show was worth every penny and even more. Kate is truly an Artist, the show was magical, it was more a musical than the concert. I think it was my moment to grab the opportunity, so I did it. I don't suppose I could ever have another chance to hear "Running Up That Hill" live... :)

Londyńska energia nakręciła mnie i naładowała. Mam nadzieję, że szybko wrócę do Londynu, szybciej niż za kilka lat :)

The London's uproar made me feel very alive and charged my batteries. I really hope to visit this city again soon. And I mean SOON :)
